Safidi Tyehimba, Director

Safidi Tyehimba has worked professionally in the film & tv industry for over 15 years. After receiving her degree from Temple University, and eventually returning to her hometown of Washington DC she landed her first industry position behind the camera producing & editing content centered around progressive social justice issues and politics. It sparked her interest and passion to use media to advance causes close to her heart. She has produced films that have won awards at major festivals, directed music videos that aired on top tv networks and mentors young people looking to enter the film & tv industry. Her favorite gig currently however, is being a Mom to a lively 5 year old. Safidi’s life’s mission is to make her little corner of the world more beautiful and just through art and activism.
